First State Bank is committed to the belief that maintaining the confidentiality of our customer’s information is at the core of the relationship with our customers. Our Board of Directors has adopted a Privacy Policy to govern our promise to you, our customers, that we will protect your trust and confidence by following the principles set forth in that policy.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

-Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency
-We collect and retain information about you only when we believe that the information will assist us in our business, and in providing products, services and other opportunities to our customers. One of the reasons we collect certain information is to protect your accounts and identify you. The information we collect will also be used to comply with certain laws and regulations that may apply to us, as well as administering services that will best assist you.

NO DISCLOSURES OUTSIDE OF EXCEPTIONS
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

We do share information with companies and third party providers that work with us. For example, we may share information with companies that print checks for us or provide data processing services. These companies are acting on our behalf when they provide these services and agree to maintain the information that they receive in a confidential manner. They are never authorized to use the information for any other purposes.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
One of the ways we protect your personal information is by limiting employee access to that information to those with a business reason to know such information. The importance of confidentiality and customer privacy is addressed in our Employee Handbook and through training on an on-going basis. Employees are taught that they should never discuss or disclose confidential customer information inside or outside of First State Bank unless required to transact proper bank business. Appropriate disciplinary measures are taken to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

We main physical, electronic, and procedural safe guards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

ACCURATE INFORMATION
We strongly believe that it is in our best interests, as well as yours, to maintain information that is as accurate as possible. We have established procedures to ensure customer information will be collected and maintained as accurately and as completely as possible. If you notify us that information is inaccurate, we will correct the information in a timely manner.

PROTECTING CHILDREN
First State Bank does not solicit data from children, nor do we conduct online marketing to children.

OUR INTERNET WEBSITE
Visitors to the First State Bank website remain anonymous. We do not collect personal identifying information about site users, unless you choose to provide such information to us to sign up for On-Line Banking or Bill Pay. Standard software is used to store and collect ONLY the following non-identifying information about our visitors:
-The name of the domain from which you access the Internet.
-The date and time you access our site.
-The type of web browsing software you are using to view our site.

E-MAIL COLLECTION, USE AND RETENTION
If you send us e-mail, we may retain the content of the e-mail and your e-mail address in order to respond to questions or concerns that are expressed. If you send e-mail to us, please remember that it is not secure against interception. If your e-mail contains information that is very sensitive or includes personal information such as account numbers, credit card numbers or your social security number, you may wish to consider sending this information to us in another way.
